Georgia Agriculture & Forestry Stakeholders,
We are pleased to share that Georgia’s Hurricane Helene Block Grant (HBG) Program will be opening very soon. Our team at Georgia Department of Agriculture has collectively invested thousands of hours into this process to ensure that Georgia’s final block grant agreement brings the maximum possible amount of federal aid to Georgia while covering as many farmers, commodities, and loss types as possible. The final agreement we have negotiated does exactly that and ensures that 100% of the funds we will receive go directly to impacted producers, not back to Washington.
USDA Leadership is in the final stages of reviewing both Georgia’s Block Grant Agreement and our Work Plan. We look forward to announcing the opening of applications and additional program details as soon as we receive final approval from USDA on both.
