The Georgia Cotton Commission is concerned about the proposed interim decision to essentially remove farmers access to acephate, a common pesticide tool used by Georgia cotton producers. While we are concerned, we recognize that this is a proposed decision rather than a final rule. The Georgia Cotton Commission will join with the National Cotton Council, Southern Cotton Growers, and other organizations in advocating for continued grower access to this affordable tool and use defendable, sound science from unbiased sources such as the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service in that advocacy.
